Held as an official side event of the Ministerial Meeting in Jeju
[Jeju=Newsis] Reporter Yang Young-jeon = An opportunity has been created in Jeju to share the experiences and strategies of the international community towards expanding employment for people with disabilities and realizing a inclusive society.
Jeju Province announced that the ‘2025 International Forum on Disability Employment’ was held at the Jeju International Convention Center (ICC JEJU) on the afternoon of the 6th as an official side event of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting on Labor (SOM2).
This forum was held with the theme ‘Finding Collective Efforts towards Social Value’, attended by over 200 participants from APEC’s 21 member economies, the APEC Disability Policy Group, international organizations, businesses, and academia.
It was organized to explore voluntary and creative ways to expand employment for people with disabilities beyond the legally mandated employment rates from the perspective of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management of businesses and public institutions as social economy entities.
